 Wine Tasting: Witness Mark Central Coast Pinot Noir 



While at the Vintage Cellar I also was able to try a red wine at one of their free tastings. I haven't tried many red wines so I was excited to try this wine. This is the Witness Mark Central Coast Point Noir. 

This wine is made of Pinot Noir grapes. It's from the United States in the California region. The vintage year is 2020. The vintage Cellar a bottle retails for $12.95. 


4.) A found a good review on this wine on the website 'Casemates'. This website has created an online wine community that allows people to write reviews on various wines that they have tried. This is really helpful for people that are looking to try new wines but want to see others options before spending their money.  I really liked the review from the user 'Knlprez' they had an extensive review on the Witness Mark Pinot Noir. They tried the wine at various times to see if the flavor changed with time. 5.) On page 150 of the Wine Folly they talk about Pinot Noirs and mention that it is popular for its red fruit and spicy flavors. I picked up the spice flavor of licorice and the primary flavor of cherry (page 151). As for the aromas; they are talked about on page 30, I smelt cherry from the red fruit group and some earthiness that would be in the vegetable/herbal category . 


6.) I did not try this wine with food. This wine has a deep red coloration. After swirling it, the notes were mostly cherry with some berry aromas. This wine is completely on the dry side. I found this wine to taste a lot like cherries with a licorice taste and some earthy flavors. I overall wasn't a huge fan of this wine, I found the flavors to strong for my palate.

 Wine T asting : Lodali Moscato d'Asti and Doktor Strawberry Moscato NV 3.) The first wine I tried was the Lodali Moscato d'Asti. The Grape that makes up this wine is Moscato. It originates from Italy, in the northern Italy/Piemonte/Moscato d'Asti region. The vintage year of this bottle is 2022. A bottle ranges from $12-16. The other wine that I tried was the Doktor Strawberry Moscato NV. This wine is made of the Moscato grape with some strawberry flavoring. The country of origin is northwest Italy in the Piemonte region. The vintage year is 2022.   Wine Tasting:  Cantina di Castelnuovo del Garda P inot Grigio della Venezie On Thursday, March 27th, I visited the Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA, for their weekly wine tasting. One of the white wines that they had to sample was the  Cantina di Castelnuovo del Garda P inot Grigio della Venezie. This wine is made up of 100% Pinot Grigio grapes. The country of origin is Italy, in the Veneto region. The vintage year is 2023 and a bottle of this wine retails for $8.95 at the vintage cellar.  I found a total of 37 review of this wine on the Vivino website; which is a website that sells various wines from all over the world.
