Wine Tasting: Barefoot Rosé, Delightfully Sweet
Wine Tasting: Barefoot Rosé, Delightfully Sweet
3.) The wine that I tried this week is the Barefoot Rosé, Delightfully Sweet. This wine is a blend of multiple grapes; Grenache, Syrah, and Consult grapes. This wine originates from the United States, in the California region. Barefoot does not provide a vintage year on their wines because they are considered to be non-vintage wines. But they recommend consuming their wine with 12 to 2 years of purchase. This is the 750 ml bottle and I paid $7.99 at Target for it. 4.) The strawberry flavor is known as stewed strawberry from the Grenache grape (page 117) and the strawberry flavor is also from the Grenache grape (page 118). The cherry flavor is from the Syrah grape (page 173). The specific aromas from this wine are in the red fruit category; strawberries and raspberries (page 30).6.) I drank this wine chilled, without food so I'm unsure if having it with a specific food would have a negative or positive effect on its taste. But for my overall review of this wine I would say I really enjoyed it. I am some who prefers wines on the sweeter side and I found this wine very sweet. At first glance you can see that this wine is in between a white and a red; it is a light pink color. As recommended I made sure to smell the wine before tasting it and I found the smell to be sweet with a fruity smell, I mainly smelt raspberries and strawberries. I immediately was hit with the sweetness of the wine on my first sip. The label mentions that there are aromas of watermelon and raspberries. I tasted a combined berry flavor, with hints of cherry and strawberries. I would characterize this wine as having a light body.
